BSSC Recruitment 2025 For 1064 Assistant Section Officers

Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has announced recruitment for 1064 Assistant Section Officer (ASO) posts under Advertisement No. 05/2025 through the 4th Graduate Level Examination. Out of these, 368 posts are reserved for women. Candidates with a graduate degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. The recruitment process includes Preliminary and Mains Examinations followed by Document Verification. Applications must be submitted online between 18th August 2025 and 19th September 2025.

BSSC ASO Vacancy Details

Education

Applicants must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university. No specific subject specialization is required.

Salary

• Pay Level 7: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 per month
• Includes allowances as per Bihar Government norms

Age Limit

As on 01/08/2025:

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 37 years (UR Male)
• Relaxations: OBC/EBC & Women (40 years), SC/ST (42 years), PwD (+10 years)

Application Fee

• UR/BC/EBC & Outside Bihar (Male/Female): ₹540
• SC/ST (Bihar Residents), Women (Bihar Residents), Disabled: ₹135
  Payment via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Card.

Selection Process

• Preliminary Exam: Objective type, 150 questions (600 marks), negative marking (-1 for wrong answer)
• Mains Exam:
  • Paper 1: Hindi (400 marks; 30% qualifying)
  • Paper 2: General Studies, General Science & Maths, Reasoning (600 marks)
• Document Verification
