IGIMS Recruitment 2026 for 3 Senior Resident Posts

Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna has announced a recruitment drive for 03 Senior Resident posts on an ad-hoc basis. This opportunity is ideal for qualified doctors with MD or DNB in General Medicine, Internal Medicine, or General Pediatrics who are seeking clinical exposure and experience at a reputed medical institution. The recruitment is being conducted through walk-in interviews held every Wednesday, and appointments will be made for a tenure of 89 days or until regular recruitment is conducted.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official website www.igims.org and download the application form.
2. Fill in all the required details accurately.
3. Prepare the application fee as a Demand Draft in favor of “Director, IGIMS, Patna.”
4. Attach self-attested copies of:
   • MBBS and MD/DNB certificates
   • Age proof
   • Caste certificate (if applicable, issued by Bihar Circle Officer)
   • Any academic/publication/training award proof
   • NOC (for Govt./Semi-Govt. employees)
5. Report for document verification at Room No. 78, State Cancer Institute, IGIMS Patna by 12:00 Noon.
6. The interview begins at 10:00 AM every working Wednesday.

Selection Criteria (Total: 100 Marks)

• MBBS Marks: 10 (–2 for each failure)
• MD/DNB Marks: 10 (–5 for each failure)
• Additional Qualification: 10

• Projects (Extra/Intramural): 10
• Subject Knowledge (Interview): 20

Important Notes

• Candidates must be Indian Citizens and Bihar State Domicile for reservation benefits.
• Ad-hoc appointments are for 89 days or until regular recruitment is complete.
• Campus stay is compulsory. HRA admissible if accommodation is unavailable.
• Private practice is strictly prohibited.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
